First Marilyn up in my new apartment! Right as you open the door to my walk-in closet ;]
On June 1, 1926 a star was born. Happy 86th Birthday Marilyn aka Norma Jeane.
“She has a certain indefinable magic that comes across, which no other actress in the business has.” - Billy Wilder
“To have survived, she would have had to be either more cynical or even further from reality than she was. Instead, she was a poet on a street corner trying to recite to a crowd pulling at her clothes.” - Arthur Miller
THIS IS INCREDIBLE.
This is such a lovely lovely quote and photoset!
Another reason I can’t stand the ‘Marilyn Monroe’ tag - pictures like this. Although it’s a nice quote Marilyn did NOT say this. Size zero didn’t even exist until four years after Marilyn died!
I can’t believe people actually think she said this.
June 1, 1956: Marilyn’s 30th birthday
Awww that is so sweet! I’m sure she heard :]
Hey guys! Hope you had a great day!
I’m all moved in, but my current internet is really really slow (it’s just a little wifi router, we still have to sign up for cable/internet) and I still have a lot to do!
Feel free to send me notes in my ask, I’d love to hear how you all celebrated Marilyn today! <3
Sorry I couldn’t have been more active, but I was thinking about Miss Monroe all day long :]
Happy 86th Birthday Marilyn
“I used to sit near Marilyn Monroe in the Actor’s Studio. She’d get dressed up because that was her identity. Sad. Those cameras wouldn’t leave her alone. She didn’t know where to hide.”
Happy Birthday Norma Jeane Mortensen Baker (June 1, 1926 – August 5, 1962)
“People always ask me if I believe diamonds are a girl’s best friend. Frankly, I don’t.”
June 1, 1955: Marilyn spends her 29th birthday at the premier of the Seven Year Itch, accompanied by Joe DiMaggio
1950: for Marilyn’s 24th birthday, she got a chihuahua named Josefa
Tuesday, June 1, 1926: Norma Jeane Mortenson is born
Happy 86th birthday, Marilyn!
